Year 12 Term 2 Lesson 1 Source and Apply Entertainment Industry Knowledge

The unit Source and apply entertainment industry knowledge describes the skills and knowledge required to source, apply and update a general knowledge of the live entertainment industry, including industry structure and operation, employment obligations and the impact of new technology. This knowledge underpins effective performance in all work roles within the entertainment industry.

Throughout term 2 students will work in teams to develop a production – Windsor Public Fair.

The Task

Week 1 to 4
Part A – Pre Production (ongoing assessment)
As a team you will meet to determine work requirements in relation to the event you are working on. You will need to provide
written documentation of your process, meetings, discussions and hard/soft copies of all communications. As part of this your team will create a Risk Assessment for your technical focus area.

Each member of the team must maintain their
own portfolio of evidence gathered from a variety of sources throughout the process. This will be submitted at the end of the task.

Part B – Performance Production.  You will be required to meet with your team to discuss
logistics of bump in/out, scheduling, the run sheet and other relevant paperwork related to your role within the production itself. All of the related documents are working documents (you will have to make notes on them as things change, etc.) and are to be collated and added to your portfolio as evidence of your work during the production itself.

Week 5
Part C – Post Production
Parts A and B will be completed within your group and you will be required to observe another student during either pre production or performance production. You will be provided with a Peer Observation Checklist to assist you.
The Peer Observation Checklist will form part of the evidence collection for this unit.

You will meet with your team following the prevent to debrief and evaluate your team processes and potential for improvement. Each student will need to write a
 final evaluative report.

After the event your Source and Apply Industry knowledge Workbook and all 13 documents  must be collated and attached to your assessment task notice, and emailed to your teacher.
