Year 11 Lesson 3 Week 4 HALF YEARLY EXAMINATION REVISION

Preparing for the Half-Yearly Examination  

Units examined: 
Participate in OHS  
Apply Sound  
Source and Apply Industry Knowledge  

The exam consists of three sections:
SECTION A - Multiple Choice 
SECTION B - Short Answer Questions  
SECTION C - Extended Response 

C.HEAT in all sections for maximum marks.

SECTION A

Hint: If the question is worth 5 marks,  write 5 points. Each point should contain terms, examples and address the question.

Describe one sector of the entertainment industry and it interrelationship with other industries. (3 marks)

SECTION C

  • 600 words minimum
  • Plan your response with a quick mind map
  • Use point form (one sentence at a time).
  • Avoid subjective writing, eg. – I think, I feel, I like or don’t like, Then we....etc.
  • Each sentence should contain terms, examples and should incorporate other elements of entertainment.
  • Use C.HEAT to check your answer.

Year 11 T2 W2 L2 Source and Apply Entertainment Industry Knowledge

Source and Apply Industry Knowledge

Session 1 (1 hour)

1. Open your Source and Apply Industry Knowledge Workbook from your email.
2. Complete the following tasks from part 2 of your workbook:
  • Careers Within The Entertainment Industry                                                                          
  • Job Roles And Descriptions                                                                                                           
  • Knowledge Of The Organisation  – Case Study                     
  • Entertainment Organisations Core Business And Mission Statements 

3. Sign-off all checklists to show you have received and have understood the following:
  • HSC Assessment Task Notice – Due Monday of Week 5
  • Source and Apply Industry Knowledge Workbook – Due Monday of Week 6
  • Regional VET Assessment Notice
Save and attach all documents to one email i.e. send it to yourself each time you complete tasks. Always remember to work from your most recent document.

Break – Photo Shoot 2.40-3.10pm

Session 2  (1 hour)
In this session, the organisation for Windsor On Stage continues.

Each group will split into pairs. One group will work on updating Evidence 1-5
and the second group will be develop evidence 6. Present completed Evidence to your teacher when completed. You will then be required to email your evidence to all class members.

Group 1
Pair Activity     -   Finalize and distribute Call Sheet  
Pair Activity     -   Update the Production Calendar on Vetentertainment website
Pair Activity     -   Complete a draft of the Production Schedule
Pair Activity     -   Finalize Production Roles 

Group 2
Pair  Activity   -  Create equipment lists for AV, sound, lighting and publicity plan  
Pair  Activity   -  Block Diagrams and plans for sound, vision and lighting (modeled by the teacher). Each   student will submit their own plan with changes.

Session 3 (30 minutes)
Individual Activity  - Each student will create an individual concert flyer or ticketing which will be submitted to the class for selection. To be completed for homework and emailed to supervising teacher before next lesson.

Session 3 (30 minutes)
Group Activity:  Windsor On Stage Production Meeting
  • Meeting Agenda Items (Group 2 SS and AC): 
  • Finalize 2014 theme or use 2013 theme
  • Actions Completed – report the progress on each evidence
  • Actions to complete for next week
  • Future agenda items
Every student must keep a record of the meeting to achieve competency in the unit Source and Apply Industry knowledge.

Year 11 Term 2 Lesson 1 Source and Apply Entertainment Industry Knowledge

Session 1 (1 hour)
  1. Download your Source and Apply Industry Knowledge Assessment Notice.
  2. HSC Assessment Task Notice – Source and Apply Industry Knowledge.
  • Sign -off that you have received both tasks.

  1. From your email download your copy of the Source and Apply Industry Knowledge. Session 1 will conclude when section A of your workbook have been completed.  
  • Save your workbook and email your document correctly labelled:

Session 2 (1 hour)

In this session, the organisation for Windsor On Stage which was commenced last term will be finalised. Evidence number 1 to 6 must be completed by the end of this session.
